Geraldine Lai, CPA, CA, CGA, has over 20 years of experience in public practice and worked for both local and international accounting firms at their Vancouver and Toronto offices where she served a broad range of clients from various industries with operations in Canada, United States and overseas. She has solid understanding about working with public companies, private corporations and small businesses, and not-for-profit organizations.

Geraldine has been providing assurance services and consulting services regarding accounting, tax compliance, governance, internal controls, listing and regulatory issues. She has hands on experience with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Canadian Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE) and Canadian Accounting Standards for Not-for-Profit Organizations (ASNPO).

Being an immigrant from Hong Kong and educated in UK and Canada, Geraldine can conduct business in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).

Geraldine won the 2016 Distinguished Service Award for Service to the Profession when serving as the Chapter Chair of CPABC Burnaby/ New Westminster Chapter. She co-chaired the CPABC Burnaby Sole Practitioners’ Forum until it was merged with the Vancouver forum where she remains an active member. Currently, she is serving on the CPABC Practice Review Committee. She also volunteers at her church and various organizations to work on their local and overseas projects.
